Bulls fall in finale at UTSA, 5-3

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (May 12, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls (24-27, 10-14 AAC) dropped the rubber match of a three-game series on Sunday, 5-3, in a back-and-forth affair with the UTSA Roadrunners (29-21, 15-9 AAC).

Despite the eight runs scored, UTSA and South Florida combined to go 0-for-24 with runners in scoring position in the ballgame. The Bulls put the tying runs on base in both the eighth and ninth innings, but failed to even the score after relinquishing the lead in the seventh inning.

The Roadrunners plated the first run of the afternoon in the bottom of the first inning, but John Montes (Toa Alto, Puerto Rico) quickly tied the score with his second homer in as many days in the top of the second.
