In 2022-23, Maddie Scherr led the Kentucky women’s basketball team in total rebounds, assists, and blocks per game. Last season was truly a breakout year for her. In her first two seasons of college basketball playing for Oregon, Scherr averaged just 3.7 points per game, and despite seeing a good amount of minutes, her production just wasn’t there.

However, Scherr’s first season in Lexington was a much-needed fresh start. The Florence, KY native and former Miss Kentucky Basketball winner averaged 11.6 points per game for the Wildcats, third-best on the team. She also spent the most time on the floor for Kyra Elzy’s squad, as she saw just under 32 minutes per game.
